Held in mid-September or early October, this tour offers a unique opportunity to visit local farms, engage in hands on activities, and learn about the roots of food and ornamentals grown in the region. From meeting farm animals to shopping at artisan markets, the tour is a celebration of small family farms and their contributions to the community.

History of the Tour

The Kenton County Farm Tour began over a decade ago, with its 13th annual event celebrated in 2023. Organized by the Kenton County Cooperative Extension Office, the tour aims to educate the public about the importance of preserving small family farms. As Nancy Kloentrup of Poverty Hollow Farms stated, "small family farms are the backbone of agriculture in America and must be preserved." The event has grown in popularity, offering a mix of educational and entertaining experiences that highlight the diversity of Kenton County's agricultural landscape.

The Kenton County Farm Tour is designed for visitors of all ages, making it an ideal family friendly outing. The self-guided format allows families to explore at their own pace, visiting farms and attractions that suit their interests.
